On Thursday, January 16, our varsity girls played Washington Catholic. Even though the girls didn’t get the turnout they wanted, they all played very well. It was a very close game, but the Lady Bulldogs lost by a final score of 36-35 in overtime.

Freshman Kendall Hale led the team with 34 points and was the lead scorer for the team that night. Junior Charlotte Entwistle added 1 point.

“We got off to a terrible start; we only had 4 points in the first quarter. We tied around halftime and played very well in the fourth quarter, and took lead the lead by two. I made a critical mistake. I should of fouled them and put them on the line, they were one of nine from the line.” Coach Garrett commented. He continued, “The worst case scenario came out when that girl hit that three and we were down one.”

On Saturday, January 11, our varsity girls traveled to Southern Roads Conference rival Columbus Christian. Our Lady Bulldogs lost 43-30.

Hale led the team with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Junior Hannah Price added 3 points and picked up 6 rebounds. Entwistle added 2 points for the Lady Bulldogs, and Sophomore Maggie Dawson contributed 6 rebounds.

On Monday, January 20, our varsity girls played Springs Valley at home. The Lady Bulldogs were defeated by a final score of 78-24. Sophomore Maggie Dawson led the team with 17 points.

The Lady Bulldogs look to recover from a tough string of games when they take on Clarksville on Saturday, January 25.
