Varsity Girls, JV Boys Defeated by Aces
On Tuesday, January 28, our varsity girls played Cloverport. It was a close game, but the Lady Bulldogs didn’t get the turn out they wanted, losing by a final score of 54-46.
Freshman Kendall Hale led the team with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Junior Hannah Price added 13 points, and Sophomore Caitlyn Chesterfield added 10 points for the Lady Bulldogs.
“We played good offensively, but Cloverport had three girls in double figures. Defensively we lost Hurst as she hit 8 three pointers. We tend to do that a lot – we chase the ball. We had 22 turnovers which led them to score 18 points. They only had nine offensive rebounds, and two second chance points. The difference in the game is turnovers and losing the shooter,” said Coach Brian Garrett.
That night was a double header game, as our JV boys also took on the Cloverport Aces. Junior Nolan Aders scored 14 points and led the Bulldogs in points that night. Devyn komasinski added 11 points for the Bulldogs.
This was the last regular season game of the year for the Lady Bulldogs. They will suit up again for sectional week – they take on the Wood Memorial Lady Trojans on February 4th, at Wood Memorial High School.
The JV boys will play again this Friday, January 31 when they take on the Springs Valley Blackhawks, at home during our homecoming night.
