Basketball Homecoming Preview 2021-2022
Cannelton High School’s annual basketball homecoming game is scheduled for Friday, December 17th. The Bulldogs will take on Southern Roads Conference rival Pleasant View Christian School. The junior varsity game will begin 5:30pm. Homecoming will take place immediately following the jv game. The varsity game will begin immediately following homecoming.
The homecoming ceremony will be live streamed by the Cannelton HiLife staff. The games can be watched via a NFHS subscription. Information on signing up for NFHS can be found on the Cannelton City Schools Facebook page.
Senior King Candidates
Trenton Boyle is the son of Arch Boyle and Crystal Suifrieg. Trenton has participated in baseball for three years and basketball for one year. His future plans are to build roller coasters with his dad. Trenton’s most memorable moment is advancing to the baseball sectional championship game. What Trenton will miss most about CHS is his friends and the teachers.
Kyan Earnest is the son of Mandy Bell and Dwayne Earnest. He has participated in basketball for four years and baseball for two years. Kyan’s future plans are to attend trade school. His most memorable moment is winning the Southern Roads Conference basketball tournament two years in a row. What Kyan will miss most about CHS is playing sports.
Nicholas Kee is the son of Miranda and Ronnie Lane. Nicholas has participated in basketball for two years. His future plans are to attend college. His most memorable moment is singing at prom and winning prom prince last year. What Nicholas will miss most about CHS is everything.
Jhett Garrett is the son of Mike and Kim Garrett. He has participated in baseball and basketball for four years and cross country for one year. He has also been a member of Student Council and Pep Club for four years and National Honor Society for three years. Jhett’s future plans are to attend college and major in journalism with the intent of becoming a lawyer. His most memorable moment is overcoming a 7 run deficit to defeat Tell City in baseball his freshman year. What Jhett will miss most about CHS is baseball, basketball, and his teachers.
Austin Wiseman is the son of Mike and Amy Osborne. Austin has participated in baseball for four years, basketball for one year, and National Honor Society and Student Council for two years. Austin’s future plans are to attend college. His most memorable moment is advancing to the baseball sectional finals last year. What Austin will miss most about CHS is his friends and sports.
Senior Queen Candidates
Caitlyn Chesterfield is the daughter of Jim and Heather Chesterfield. She has participated in cheer, basketball, and softball for three years, volleyball for two years, Student Council for three years, and National Honor Society for two years. Caitlyn’s future plans are to attend college and major in psychology. Her most memorable moments are the bus rides to and from games. What Caitlyn will miss most about CHS is her friends.
Maggie Dawson is the daughter of Donna Dawson. She has participated in volleyball, basketball, and softball for 4 years. She has also been a part of Student Council for 4 years. Her future plans are to attend cosmetology school. Her most memorable moment is the first win of her senior volleyball season. What Maggie will miss most about CHS is playing sports.
Emily Eigel is the daughter of Jason and Karen Eigel. She has participated in volleyball and cheer for three years and softball for two years. She has also been a member of National Honor Society, Student Council, and Pep Club for three years. Emily’s future plans are undecided. Her most memorable moment is earning second place in the Southern Roads Conference volleyball tournament. What Emily will miss most about CHS is her friends and sports.
Destiny Miles is the daughter of Erica Miles and Leroy Miles. Destiny’s future plans are to attend college. What Destiny will miss most about CHS is her friends.
Jenessa Sturgeon is the daughter of Jeremy Sturgeon and Carman Sturgeon. Jenessa has participated in cheer for four years and volleyball for three years. She has also been a member of Student Council and Pep Club for four years and National Honor Society and the Cannelton HiLife staff for three years. Jenessa’s future plans are to attend college and become a pharmacy technician. Her most memorable moment is cheering sidelines as the boys basketball team won the Southern Roads Conference basketball tournament championship back to back. What Jenessa will miss most about CHS is her teachers, her friends, and cheer.

Junior Gavin Melton. Gavin is the son of Chris and Lora Melton.
Junior Kyla Wilkerson. Kyla is the daughter of Robbin Cronin and Dustin Wilkerson.
Junior Logan Larsen. Logan is the son of James and Kimberly Larsen.
Sophomore Kaitlyn Korressell. Kaitlyn is the daughter of John Korressell and Melissa Wing, and Brandi Nix.
Sophomore Trevor Hale. Trevor is the son of Josh and Brittany Hale.
Sophomore Danika Maffia. Danika is the daughter of Andrea Maffia and Steven Maffia.
Sophomore Jason Lawson. Jason is the son of Renae Lawson.
Freshman Kylie Anastasiades. Kylie is the daughter of Matthew and Margaret Anastasiades.
Freshman Brayden Puckett. Brayden is the son of Lacer Puckett and the grandson of Donald and Linda Puckett.
Freshman Bria Garrett. Bria is the daughter of Brian and Mikki Garrett.
Eighth Grader Gage Garrett. Gage is the son of Mike and Kim Garrett.
Homecoming announcers are Kameah Warren and Shilah McMahan.
Homecoming presenters are middle school cheerleaders Brooke Evans, Chloe Hale, Arianna Hulse, Brooklyn O’Brien, and Izabell Sturgeon.
